One board. Two currencies. Only one of them is real. Learn the difference between true satoshis and paper promises — by playing.
01 — The premise
Denominated in satoshis, but with no real value. Created from nothing whenever the bank needs it. A promise — nothing more.
Physical vouchers backed by true Bitcoin Lightning. Scarce. Redeemable. They exist — outside the game too.
In the end, only sats count. The ETFs were just system noise.
02 — The board
The traditional Monopoly squares have been completely reimagined within the Bitcoin ecosystem. Go became Genesis. Free Parking became the Mining Pool. Jail became the SEC.
03 — The cards
Satoshi Nakamoto, Nick Szabo, Hal Finney, Michael Saylor — the streets of the board bear names that made history in the network. ASICs replace houses. Mining Farms replace hotels.
04 — Real money
Each player starts with 15,000 satoshis in physical vouchers — each with a QR code hidden behind a fold, generated through the Lightning Network. At the end of the game, redeem what you won. For real.
05 — Frequently asked questions
No. To play you don't need a wallet — vouchers work like fair tokens: you hand the sats to the custodian and receive the same value in physical vouchers. You only need a Lightning wallet at the end of the game, when you want to redeem the sats you won.
Yes, and for free. The preview file (120 dpi) is available at no cost. If you want better quality — for optimised home printing or to send to a print shop — you can purchase the file at 200 or 300 dpi on the Downloads page.
Between two and eight. Pieces can be improvised on the spot — any small, easily identifiable object works. Dice too: two regular dice from any old game are all you need.
Only the vouchers contain real sats. Each voucher has a fold hiding a QR code — when you unfold it, you redeem exactly the value printed on the face of the voucher, directly to your Lightning wallet.
The Custodian is whoever makes the game possible: prints the board and cards, creates the vouchers and holds the Lightning wallet where the sats are stored. They can play or just manage the game. They receive the initial satoshis from players and distribute them as physical vouchers.
At redinp2t.com. SATOSPOLIO vouchers have a unique design and configuration that only works through that LNbits instance — they cannot be created with another Lightning wallet.
Each voucher has a printed expiry date. As long as the fold hasn't been opened, the voucher can be given away or kept — the QR code remains valid until that date. At the end of the game, whoever holds the voucher unfolds it and redeems the sats to their Lightning wallet. After the expiry date, redemption may no longer be possible.
